Azerbaijan-Serbia business forum organized by Azerbaijan`s Investments and Export Promotion Foundation (AzPROMO) held in Baku.

ADA presents book "Azerbaijan as a regional hub in Central Eurasia"

A presentation of Taleh Ziyadov`s book "Azerbaijan as a regional hub in Central Eurasia" took place in Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA). 
Rector of ADA Hafiz Pashayev hoped the studies carried out in the book would make contribution to development of the conception "Azerbaijan 2020: view to future" and of the country`s non-oil sector.

Azerbaijan Milli Majlis speaker meets chairperson of Bulgarian National Assembly

On May 14th Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Tsetska Tsacheva. 
First they met in private. Then, the meeting continued in presence of delegations.

Azerbaijani minister of finance participates in ADB`s annual meeting

The Azerbaijani minister of finance Samir Sharifov participated in the 45th annual meeting of the ADB Board of Governors in Manila, the capital of Philippines.

Azerbaijani Finance Minister received IMF mission

Finance Minister Samir Sharifov of Azerbaijan received yesterday the International Monetary Fund mission headed by Nadeem Ilahi.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in the meeting the sides discussed the latest economic trends and prospects, the outcome of State Budget implementation in 2011 and the forecast and current implementation of budget in 2012.

Azerbaijan, Korea mull customs cooperation

On May 1st head of the Azerbaijan`s State Customs Committee (SCC) Aydin Aliyev met Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service Joo Yung-sup.
Aydin Aliyev updated his Korean counterpart on the SCC`s activity and progress achieved in the past 20 years.
He also highlighted the Korean experience in the customs service.

Azerbaijan ranks first for GDP growth

Experts of Russia`s RIA Novosti news agency has kept statistics of GDP growth around the world countries. Azerbaijan has reached the top of the list, according to the statistics.
The GDP was 10202 USD in Azerbaijan in 2011. The statistical table was worked out on the basis of International Monetary Fund`s information.

Azerbaijan`s population reaches 9.265m

The population of Azerbaijan grew 0.3 percent in the first quarter of this year to reach 9,264,000 people, the State Statistical Committee announced.
According to the official figures, the population density reached 107 people per one square kilometer.
Some 49.6 percent of the population are men, while 50.4 percent are women.

Azerbaijani minister of finance meets WB and IMF officials

Azerbaijani minister of finance Samir Sharifov met with officials of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington. 
Mr. Sharifov met with WB Vice-President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Philippe Le Houerou. Mr. Sharifov updated the vice-president on social and economic development of Azerbaijan, state of the large-scale projects funded by the World Bank, the new economic development strategy and the non-oil sector.

On May 15th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended an informal summit of the CIS Council of Heads of State.
Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the CIS Heads of State, including the Azerbaijani leader.
